I started working in the film industry at age 18, as a production assistant. I then worked my way up the ladder, in almost every department on set. Upon graduating from New York University’s Graduate Film School in the Tisch School of the Arts in 1998, I launched my own film company, Hominy Films, LLC.

During graduate school, I benefited from a mentorship with Academy Award winning Barbara Kopple who introduced me to documentary production. Over a couple of decades, I specialized in  camera and art departments to then earning my position of director/producer/series producer. I’ve directed a range of non-fiction projects, from being on the road with major rock bands to behind-the-scenes takes of emergency rooms, funeral homes, and beauty pageants.

I’ve been nominated for an Emmy for my docu-reality show “TRAUMA: Life in the ER,” and I’m proud of my story-sculpting work on A&E’s “Family Plots.” I love to walk that fine line between comedy and tragedy, in documentary, narrative, and reality genres. Life is often more interesting than fiction.
